Community • Trooper Nickolas B. Goodnite of the Ohio Highway Patrol's Canton post received the statewide criminal patrol award for excellence in felony enforcement. The annual award goes to troopers who open at least 12 criminal investigations resulting in felony arrests. Trooper Jason W. Halstead of the Canton post received the Ace Award for excellence in auto larceny enforcement. Last year, he recovered five stolen vehicles with a combined value of $45,000, resulting in five arrests.
